Example: Central Washington senior WR #84 JOHNNY SPEVAK (6021, 192) is off to a hot start to this season after grabbing eight catches for 133 yards and one touchdown last week and followed that up with another terrific effort this week. Spevak hauled in five balls for 37 yards and one touchdown in their 13-10 upset win over defending national champion Minnesota Duluth. Spevak scored on a 6-yard pass from Ryan Robertson in the third quarter that tied up the game as part of a 10-0 run in the second half to help defeat Duluth.

Early on it appeared that Southern was going to defeat Louisiana Lafayette and mainly due to the play of senior WR #88 JUAMORRIS STEWART (6011, 196) who caught touchdowns from 26 and 51 yards out in the first quarter. Stewart finished the game with 10 catches for 173 yards and two scores.

Kenyon College fell short in their opener in a 33-21 loss to Case Western Reserve but not without a big performance from senior WR #82 HARRY VON KANN (6033, 222) who led all receivers with 14 catches for 142 yards and one touchdown. He also returned five punts for 92 yards, averaging 18.4 per return. Kann is a prospect to watch as the season wears on and a dark horse candidate for the Gagliardi Trophy.

St. Cloud State junior WR #8 FRED WILLIAMS (6004, 190) led all receivers with 15 catches for 171 yards and one touchdown in their overtime loss to Maine. He also contributed on special teams with one punt return for 0 yards and then three kickoff returns for 71 yards, averaging 23.7 per return.

For the second straight week Assumption junior RB #24 HERB WOODARD (5074, 175) surpassed 100 yards rushing as he tallied 118 yards and two touchdowns on just 16 rushes in their 51-16 win over Worchester State on Friday night...
