Examples: GANNON AT CALIFORNIA PA SCOUTING GRADES (Sept. 19) California PA rolled to a 52-10 win over Gannon outgaining them by over 400 yards of total offense. Both sides of the ball were dominant for the Vulcans and there were several prospects on both sides. We start with the Cal PA offense with their top prospect in senior WR #8 AJ JACKSON (6047, 237) is fairly quick off the line for his size, has great hands, and uses his body well. Good leaping ability and strength. Has great bulk and is physical mismatch for most at his level. Need to see against better competition. Adequate speed (4.55-4.58E). Raw route running and raw in blocking technique but able to sustain. GRADE- 5.30 6th round… junior WR #82 TERRANCE MOORE (6012, 170) has adequate speed and height but must bulk up. Has some quickness and adequate hands. Worth a look for next year. GRADE- 4.40 high FA… senior QB #12 JOSH PORTIS (6030, 205), who has good height but needs to bulk up. Right handed passer with adequate mechanics and good mobility. Has adequate arm strength with good zip on short routes but nothing special. Very productive, adequate to good accuracy, and his touch on the deep ball has improved. Good speed (4.65E). Threw for 262 yards, 5 touchdowns on 17 of 26 passing and rushed for 40 yards. ...

Senior CB #5 CORTEZ GILBERT (5104, 176) will need to gain weight for the next level and get stronger but is an adequate man to man and zone cover corner with adequate to good athletic ability and adequate speed (4.55E). Had seven tackles. GRADE- 4.70 PFA… Junior FS #13 MARK LEGREE (5113, 200) had a decent game but did not have one of his best performances showing poor tackling technique at times by leading with the shoulder instead of wrapping up but did show that he plays center field well and has good range and instincts. He is very active and again shows he has NFL speed (4.45E)...

MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE AT ALCORN STATE SCOUTING GRADES (OCT. 10)

Alcorn State dominated this game winning 32-10 and there were a few potential free agents to watch in this game. For ASU it all starts with the dominant game by junior DE #90 MALCOLM TAYLOR (6024, 245) who showed a good motor, long arms, and is very productive. Has marginal acceleration and does slip a lot while rushing the passer. It is tough to grade just one game as he was unstoppable in this one. Need to see more film. Had six tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and one hurry. GRADE- 4.40 FA… Senior CB #1 ROD WILLIAMS (5092, 170) is a marginal sized corner with adequate speed (4.50E), and has some return ability. Adequate athletic ability and vertical. Had one pass interference call against him. Marginal hands shown (dropped INT). Mostly a camp body. Four tackles and four breakups. GRADE- 4.60 low PFA… Senior S #31 CARL HARRIS (5113, 202) is a good open field tackler with good closing speed and able to shed blocks well but needs to bulk up a little bit in the lower body as his legs look very skinny. Good motor. Had five tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks, and two hurries. GRADE- 4.40 FA… For MVSU the only player we graded was sophomore DT #99 JARED GREEN (6014, 290) who has adequate size and good strength at the point of attack. Has thick thighs and a thick butt. Good closing speed and motor. Needs to bulk up more in the upper body and work on technique along with leverage. Potential prospect in the future. Had seven tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks. GRADE- 4.40 FA...
